Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our representative who will assist you with immigration formalities and transfer you to your hotel. After settling in, you can take some time to rest and acclimatize to the altitude. Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to explore the nearby streets of Thamel, a bustling area filled with shops, cafes, and cultural sites, or simply relax and prepare for your upcoming adventure.
Today is dedicated to exploring the cultural and historical landmarks of Kathmandu. After breakfast, you will embark on a guided sightseeing tour of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the afternoon, you will have free time to shop for any last-minute trekking gear and prepare for your journey to the Mustang region.
After an early breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurna region. The journey takes approximately 6 hours, offering stunning views of rural landscapes, terraced fields, and traditional Nepali villages along the way. Upon reaching Pokhara, you will check into your hotel and have the rest of the day free to explore Lakeside, Pokhara's bustling tourist district, or simply relax by the serene Phewa Lake.
Today, you will take an early morning flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, where your trek to Upper Mustang begins. From Jomsom, you will trek to Kagbeni, a picturesque village located at the confluence of the Kali Gandaki and Mustang Rivers. The trail follows the banks of the Kali Gandaki River, offering stunning views of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri peaks. Upon reaching Kagbeni, you will check into your tea house and rest for the night, preparing for the journey ahead.
Leaving Kagbeni behind, you will continue your trek towards Chele, a small village nestled amidst the rugged terrain of Upper Mustang. The trail ascends gradually, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Today's trek takes you from Chele to Syanbochen, passing through scenic landscapes and remote villages along the way. As you approach Syanbochen, you will notice the change in landscape and climate, with alpine vegetation dominating the terrain. Upon reaching Syanbochen, you will check into your tea house and rest for the night, preparing for the journey to Ghaymi tomorrow.
Continuing your trek, you will make your way from Syanbochen to Ghaymi, a charming village located in the heart of Upper Mustang. The trail follows a gradual ascent, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Along the way, you will pass through picturesque landscapes dotted with chortens and prayer flags, reflecting the region's rich Buddhist heritage. Upon reaching Ghaymi, you will check into your tea house and rest for the night, enjoying the warm hospitality of the locals.
Today's trek takes you from Ghaymi to Charang, a historic village known for its ancient monasteries and palaces. Leaving Chhuksang behind, you'll trek back to Jomsom, the final destination of your Upper Mustang adventure. You'll cross suspension bridges and traverse rocky terrain, enjoying the last moments of your trek in the Mustang region. Upon reaching Jomsom, you'll celebrate the completion of your journey and prepare for your return flight to Pokhara.
