Begin your trek with an early morning drive from Kathmandu to Changu Narayan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. After exploring the temple and its surroundings, start your trek to Nagarkot. The trail takes you through lush forests, terraced fields, and charming villages, providing ample opportunities to interact with local communities and witness their traditional lifestyle. The trek is moderately challenging, with a gradual ascent that offers increasingly spectacular views of the Himalayas. Arrive in Nagarkot by late afternoon, just in time to relax and enjoy the breathtaking sunset over the snow-capped peaks. Overnight stay in a guesthouse or hotel with stunning mountain views.
Wake up early to catch the sunrise, a highlight of the Nagarkot experience. Watch as the first rays of the sun illuminate the Himalayas, painting the peaks in hues of pink and gold. After breakfast, begin your trek towards Dhulikhel, another picturesque hill town. The trail from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel is scenic, passing through dense forests, terraced farms, and traditional villages. Enjoy the peaceful environment and the ever-changing landscape as you make your way to Dhulikhel. Upon arrival, explore the town, known for its well-preserved Newari culture and historic temples. Spend the night in Dhulikhel, taking in the evening views of the mountains and the surrounding valley.
On your final day, you have the option to either trek further or drive back to Kathmandu. If you choose to trek, consider the route to Namobuddha, a sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site, before heading back to the capital. The trek to Namobuddha is relatively short and easy, with a mix of forest paths and rural roads. Visit the ancient stupa and monastery at Namobuddha, which holds significant religious importance and offers tranquility and beautiful scenery. Afterward, drive back to Kathmandu, bringing your trekking adventure to a close. Alternatively, you can spend the morning in Dhulikhel, enjoying the local sights and leisurely walking around the town before returning to Kathmandu by car.
